Form 8P and Joseph B, all seasoned Packwood debaters, relished the opportunity to take part in the Model United Nations at Moreton Hall earlier this week. The Packwood girls and boys were given the challenge of representing three different delegations. All our pupils spoke confidently in their various committees, whether proposing resolutions, submitting amendments or merely contesting individual points on their country’s behalf.
The MUN debating format draws on a huge range of essential life skills, which all Packwoodians exhibited throughout the course of the day. The three debates gave all speakers the opportunity to present their arguments to a group, respond to questioning under pressure and negotiate with those holding different views. Well done to the following Packwood pupils in particular, who were commended for their excellent performance through the course of the day: Ben, George, Holly and Huw.
