Year 7 and 8 were treated to an inspiring careers talk last Saturday morning by Charlie Thurstan, Packwood parent and entrepreneur. As part of Packwood’s occasional program of visiting speakers, Mr Thurstan condensed five inspirational figures and their life stories to five minutes each.
In addition to planting the seeds for career ideas, the pupils were challenged to consider five fundamental questions in the latter stages of their Packwood journey. Drawn from the diverse life experiences of Steve Jobs, Serena Wiliams and David from the Old Testament, these essential questions were: What new thing can I try? What do I truly love? How can I do it differently? Does it matter if I fail? & How can I take it further? All were spurred into action after such a rousing talk!
