Acorns returned to school refreshed following their half term holiday, ready for their Down On The Farm Theme Day. Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes which included farmers, scarecrows, cows, sheep, cats, dogs and rabbits!
During the morning the children worked in mixed-aged groups to complete activities such as constructing a pigsty, stable or tractor shed using their own choice of construction toys; using a Geoboard App on the ipads to make farm pictures; making a collage and solving a problem for a farmer attempting to transport a chicken, a fox and a bag of grain across a river safely. In the afternoon they made pictures of farm scenes using their own choice of media. The afternoon was rounded off with some farm themed stories.
