This term, the children are enjoying their Gymnastics lessons as part of the PE curriculum. Year 2 have been using the gymnastics apparatus to develop their upper body strength and balance. Year 5 have been using their knowledge of balances to create group balances, developing both collaboration and creativity in PE.
Each PE lesson is adapted to meet the individual needs of the children using a framework called ‘STEP’. The teachers and children must think carefully and adapt the Space, Task, Equipment and People (groupings) to be inclusive, and to ensure performance, knowledge, skills and understanding are improved in every lesson.
