On Tuesday 14th May, the sun shone for the Packwood Acorns Cricket Festival, which involved all of the Acorns children participating in different elements of the game.
The event was organised by Mrs Parry and supported by the Acorns teachers and three excellent helpers from Year 8 – Adam, Callie and Sam. The Reception and Year 1 children all participated in a game where they took turns batting and fielding. Once they had dispatched the ball they accumulated runs by running through gates. The Year 2 children played the same game but were able to score 4s and 6s by hitting the ball either to, or over, the set boundary.
The Acorns thoroughly enjoyed their introduction to the various aspects of the game and it was a pleasure to welcome parents to come along and support.
