World Cup fever in Acorns

The children in Packwood Acorns had a great day on Tuesday learning about the different countries participating in the football World Cup.

They researched and made the countries’ flags and they learned how to say hello and goodbye in Russian and in the languages of the teams playing matches that day. It was quite a challenge to get their tongues around Nigerian, Icelandic and Danish among several others.

The afternoon culminated in three exciting matches of Acorns versus Parents football, with very strict rules in force for the parents! Great fun was had by all and it ended with a well-deserved ice cream – the perfect way to end proceedings on such a beautiful, sunny day.
