We are delighted to announce that Ton Ton (Year 8) has been elected as Packwood’s latest scholar to Winchester College. He follows in a long line of Packwood pupils to win scholarships there in recent years, including his brother Gorn (2017), Luke (2013) and Alex (2012). Linden (2013) came top of the entire Winchester Entrance cohort in his year, whereas Alfie (2014) is off to read Classics at Cambridge this September.
Winchester’s Registrar, Mr Andrew Shedden, was kind enough to comment: “I am delighted that, following Ton Ton’s success in becoming a scholar at Winchester, we are to receive another excellent boy from Packwood Haugh. This continues the recent tradition of Packwood sending excellent boys to Winchester. They are all happy, thriving and enjoying being part of a community that values boys with passion, who love learning and discovery. Keep them coming please!”
Packwood and Winchester’s most distinguished alumnus, thus far, is Frederick Manners: he has been an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Stanford and now UC San Diego.
