Celebrating Thanksgiving at Packwood. Year 7 did a fantastic job of recreating the 400th anniversary of the voyage of the Mayflower followed by Thanksgiving lunch complete with a ‘Thankfulness Tree’. The juniors wrote on individual leaves their personal ‘things to be thankful for’.
Although we are currently unable to have competitive fixtures against other schools we are keeping the competitive spirit alive with plenty of Sixes (House) matches. It was fantastic to see Year 6 involved in Packwood Award. 6C practicing their first aid skills on each other and 6R making autumn wreaths with leaves collected in the school grounds.
Particularly poignant Acts of Remembrance today with all the pupils and staff in the Prep School coming together, socially distanced, for the first time since March. The children in Acorns put on their Open Assembly on the theme of bonfire night and fireworks. They presented beautifully, recited poems and performed a firework dance! It was great to see them speak with confidence and it was clear they really enjoyed performing and encouraging each other.
