Appointment of the Interim Head of Packwood Haugh School

Appointment of the Interim Head of Packwood Haugh School

Liz Lewis stood down as Chair of the Packwood governing body at the end of last term and it is my honour to be taking over.   My two children had a wonderful time before going on to Shrewsbury and Rugby and I have served on the governing body since 2007.

When Liz wrote to you on 3rd July with the news of the appointment of Robert Fox as Head to succeed Clive, you may recall that because Robert was required to give two terms notice to Harrow Hong Kong we needed to recruit an interim Head to lead the school in the 2019 Spring term.

I am delighted to be able to announce that Paul Reynolds has agreed to take on that role for what is a particularly important term for year 8 students as they prepare for Common Entrance exams in the summer.

The greater part of Paul’s teaching career has been in boarding schools and he has been Head of three preparatory schools – Sedbergh Junior School (2002-2009), Wilmslow (2009-2013) and in 2018 as interim Head at Birchfield.    He will bring energy and enthusiasm and a great deal of experience.  Paul will live in the Headmaster’s house;  his wife Adele,  a part-time practice nurse in Macclesfield, will be at Packwood as much as her commitments allow.

Paul will be visiting the school next term as part of the hand-over process and to meet staff and parents.  I know you will all make Paul and Adele feel extremely welcome.

Best wishes,

David Stacey

Chair of Governors
