Again this year Packwood is pleased to be included in the UK’s leading independent guides to the best schools in the country.
The Good Schools Guide is a trusted and highly respected source of information for parents and the UK’s leading guide to schools of all types across the country. We are delighted with the outstanding review of Packwood in the recently published 2016 edition which highlights the ‘aspirational learning environment’, notes that ‘boarding is a specialism’ and assesses Packwood overall as a ‘top-tier prep school’.
We are also proud to be included in Tatler’s Schools Guide 2017 – an independent guide to the UK’s Top 225 prep and public schools.
Here’s what they say in the guide:
‘A year of national success,’ trumpets Clive Smith-Langridge, proud head of this Shropshire prep school. And, indeed, it’s laurels all round: national fencing champions, a national Welsh U12 ski champion, a national golf competition winner and, to top it all, they won the Midland Game Fair pheasant-plucking competition. And plucky pretty much sums up this lot. They’ll have a go at anything – wheelchair rugby is now on the PE curriculum. A recent focus on theatricals has brought in another bountiful bouquet of drama scholarships to add to the 13 last year. Leavers go everywhere, from Oundle to Eton, with many more local schools in between. There’s a new scholarship club to challenge the brightest, and new Year 8 classes in culture and life skills. Next up: massive plans for the school’s 125th anniversary in 2017. Parents praise Packwood’s ‘magic formula’, saying the value-added is tremendous.
