Packwood was founded in Hockley Heath in Warwickshire in September 1892. The school’s original home was requisitioned by the RAF early in the Second World War and so Packwood moved to Ruyton XI Towns in 1940.
Packwood 125: To celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the foundation, we have planned a series of events for the year September 2017 to June 2018 and we warmly invite former and current pupils and parents, and all those who are or have been part of the Packwood community to attend.
We have tried to plan events that will appeal to a wide audience – children and adults, Old Packwoodians, governors, current and former pupils and members of staff, and the local community in Ruyton XI Towns.
Our 125 events are listed below. Please click on an event to find out more.
The 125 Appeal
To mark Packwood’s 125th Anniversary, we are launching an appeal to raise funds to upgrade the facilities for teaching Science at the school. Science is now an essential core element of the modern curriculum and top grades are regularly awarded at both Scholarship and Common Entrance level. Many pupils have gone on to excel in the Sciences at their senior schools and universities.
Now is the time to upgrade the laboratories as we look forward to further successes in Science in the years to come. Our aim is to raise at least £125,000. We hope that you will acknowledge the importance of this project, and give it your support. Please click here for more details of how you can help.
